Hi All,
My Dr has just written to request funding from my PCT for banding. She is positive, saying she thinks it won't be a problem so I am just waiting to hear. She says within a month. Then its pre op counselling an then more waiting, hopefully on the band list. I have been reading about all your experiences and you are all motivating me so much. I just can't wait to be post op and really begin the journey that you other post oppers are on. Anyway, you all seem so nice I thought I would say hi and hope you'll keep me positive while I'm waiting!
BTW I'm 33 with 4 kids..........

Hi Julia,
:welcome: I am very new to this site. It has loads of good information and the peeps seem very nice and helpfull. I was banded a week ago in Belguim. I tried the NHS route, but my doctor was not very helpfull, I was told the hossi had no more funding, so we tried another hossi, (so I thought) a couple of mths later I went back to be told they had not even refered me and then I was told that there is no funding in my area.

That is why I chose to pay for the op myself, it has been very hard, and the next year or so is going to be hard too, but it will be worth it.

I am 42, and it looks like we both need to lose about the same weight.

I am so glad that I have had the band fitted, I am now on the new phase of my life, the slimmer and happier phase. x

:welcome2:Hi JUlie and welcome to minis - this is a wonderful support forum with many of us at different stages of our own journey.

There are A LOT of inspirational people on here who have become great losers so i'm sure you will enjoy being one of the family and learn, laugh and chart your own WLS journey

Looking forward to getting to know you better :)

Hi Julia, welcome to the site.:welcome: Good luck with your funding. You're certainly in the right place for advice and support. People here have had all sorts of experiences for us 'losers-in-waiting' to draw on so if you have an questions just fire away and someone will probably pop up with the answer. All being well, I should be having a bypass sometime towards autumn. Once again, good luck. Zxx

thank you all so much for your replies so far, looking forward to getting to know you all better and to receiving more replies.
