HI

Just joined in earnest. I have a long way to go and am just at the beginning of my journey. Have had my group appointment and have just received an appointment to see the nurse and the dietician. Am trying to lose some weight prior to this. Fingers Crossed that this time will be successful in both losing weight and getting the much awaited surgery that I would like.

I need to lose the equivalent to two people so a long journey ahead but will extend my life so all positive.

talk to me and let me know if you too are just starting out or if you have been in a similar situation with such a daunting task ahead. All support most welcome xx

Hi Goofy and welcome to the forum. It seems like it will take ages when you're just starting out in the referral process but before you know it you will be having your op and starting your new life. I've had all my tests now and am just waiting for my date.

I am in Darlington in the North East and I know there are loads of people on here from this area. thanks for your replies the journey is long but the benefits are huge so head down and not straight into Greggs. Healthy eating all the way from this moment on and try and move this body, well at least a little for the moment.

Hi Goofy, I have Just finished my group sessions, I have my MDT apointment 5th May to find out if I will be put forward for surgery, it's been a long bumpy road for me, I have every thing crossed for the 5th May.

Hi goofy i too am at srh.Just had my appt with nurse and dietician on march 15th.I should hopefully get my next appt sometime in july/aug.Then i hope i get put on the list.Good luck to you.At least the ball is rolling.

I too am at the beginning of what seems a very long road. I have just got my seminar date for June at SRH.
I also have the equivilent of 2 people to lose, it does seem daunting but the end product will be well worth the wait.

thanks to everyone who replied It's good to know we are not alone.
lilyscent it's nice to hear of someone else in the same boat I hope we are able to support each other though this long process.At the seminar I went to hey said around 18 months from that point but to be honest after being FAT since being 6 months old it's not that much longer to wait really.
vonnie38 you are a little bit ahead of me so you can keep me up to datewith what I have to look forward to!?!
