NO more BEEF for me!!!.....

emma-louise

my new life!!
Since my bypass, FOR SOME REASON I CAN STAND BEEF!!
Sob sob,and I loved the stuff before...
The smell of it turns my stomach, ive tryed twice and its made me violently sick.
Isnt it strange how after surgery you can just go off things like that, after completely loving the stuff.
Anyone else gone off foods they loved before??

I'm a bit iffy with eggs....but i can eat pretty much anything else....apart from bread!
I tried a tiny bit of a toasted sandwich yesterday and realised I HATE the taste of bread! And it makes me feel bloated and sick too.
I used to eat loads of it. But I can't say I miss it, apart from the convenience angle of being able to eat sandwiches.

I am just realizing how much my tastes have changed
I used to love rum and coke but when I had a small glass I found I didn't like the taste of rum anymore so I just tried some coke .....I don't like that anymore either:eek:

I don't like salmon (my fav pre-op)
I love oranges even more now than before
I can't eat chips
and I'm not too keen on yogurts now:cry:
the list goes on

Not keen on vimto but I think that is more to do with having it with those disolvable voltaral tablets that are revolting. So glad I don't have to have them any more.

Jacki.

I loved coffee before then post op could not drink it for three months . . . but like it again now!! Wierd

I have trouble with beef sometimes and lamb but not cos I dont like the taste just because it makes me get the rabids  I like tangerines now, didnt much before :D XX

I tried with meat and potato pie today..I was ill as hell!
I cannot do anything that has beef in at all,
Nevermind losing 4 and half stone makes up for that!!!...lol

It sure does! I have a nasty feeling that pork is having the same effect on me...and i love it. Tut. ah well...

For me since I'm still on my mushy food stage it's yogurt even the smell makes me sick and everything is soooo sweet. Did this happen to anyone else. I used to have like 2-3 trivia's in my tea now 1 is a lil over powering.......

I loved brussell sprouts. I could eat a big bowl with some onions. Yummy. They are like little cabbages. I ate half of one and it felt like glass going down my throat. And little popcorns made of glass popping in my stomach.

i too have trouble with beef now i can eat it but it feels like i have swallowed a brick no matter how small the piece or how well i have chewed it so i give it a miss now still never mind lol the weight loss more than compensates for it

I agree about the beef too.....most meats are prettu tough to get down really. Chicken is the best but I have even had trouble with that sometimes!
Everything tasted really sweet to me too after surgery.....went from 2 sweeteners in coffee to 1, also coffee and tea taste really strong so have those weak too. :D XX

Yes I agree with Dotty re coffee and tea . . I had them fairly weak and sweet before surgery . . now I have them VERY weak and far less sweet. I am getting more used to how sweet things taste now . . and also how salty some things taste (anything processed!). I had some cranberry wenslydale cheese the other day and it was so salty I had to spit it out.

I am ok with beef but only really good beef and only lightly cooked e.g. thinly sliced fillet in a stir fry or same with rump in something like stroganoff.

I have more trouble with chicken as I find it dry. Wierd arent we!!!

Hi zns
Can't do beef at all!
Infact I can't much of anything at the minute.
Just not hungry and it's hard to get my head round,as over eating what got me here!
