I am two weeks post op and I am finding it hard to keep anything down. I am On the pureed stage and everytime I eat anything I am sick. Has anyone else experienced this? Has anyone any advice. I would be most grateful x

Have you tried going back to liquids rather than pureed to see if that makes any difference? If I were you though I'd give your bariatric team a ring and let them know. You need to get your nutrients in and they should be able to advise you.

Hi honey,
I had the same problem as soon as I introduced purees.
It is horrible at the start but I promise it will pass.
Take the tiniest amount into your mouth at a time and make sure it is liquid before you swallow.
I was sick daily until about 10 weeks post op but it will improve bit by bit xx

Hi hun . . . each surgeon gives his own advices . . . I left hospital and went straight to puréed foods in fact some of the hospital meels (bloody awful) were puréed. I think it is a case of finding a balance and taking it one step at a time. When I got home I tried puréeing WW meals (uck ! a horse wouldn’t keep that stuff down). Try quiche or cottage cheese maybe even braising steak. Remember you will only need a very small quantity and if you over eat you will vomit it back up xx

Oh stefanie i feel for you, poor you! i was never sick but when i looked at my pureed food i always felt sick. Hope that you get passed this. good luck

Hi,

Can you keep liquids down as it's important you do not get dehydrated.

If you can't keep liquids down then you need to speak to your team urgently but speak to them regardless.

Hope you are feeling better soon xx
