hi. I joined this group 4 years ago. I have now added the ap on my phone but I'm finding the site a bit confusing!
Had gastric bypass 4 years ago. lost 10 stone but put on 2 and getting bigger. Looking for support or diet advise really! x

Hi hun, only 5wks out so not really experienced enough to advise but have you tried going back to basics? Eating dense protein first, followed by veggies? Hope you get some advice xx

Thank you. I have read up about the 5 day pouch diet which is based on protein so might try that. 5 weeks out...exciting! How are u finding it? x

Hi,
I'm over 4yrs out....when I had a regain of 10lbs a while back this is what I did.
Drank plenty of fluids throughout the day(lots)
Can't eat pasta/bread/rice anything stodgy so that did me a massive favour of not eating those!
Eat plenty of protein..I love beans so ate lots of these to fill up and healthy.
Plenty of salads and had nuts and fruits..and exercise(everyday about 30mins min)
The weight came off much easier than it would have before I had bypass.

All good so far, went through the mill to get here and keep expecting something to go wrong lol but I'm enjoying my purée hehe and looking forward to normal foods!
Yes I've heard of the 5 day pouch test!! Go for it hun xx

so glad I came back on this site. Am feeling motivated already!
Thanks for the advise. ..why can't you eat stodge? cos' it doesn't agree with you? I am debating a slimming club but i will feel like i have really let myself down if i go back down that path. Maybe just get myself a diary and record what i eat and how much i lose. Is there something on here that I can do that on?

5 weeks out is such early stages. well done. It's not an easy journey! x

ahhh thanks. ..thats the one I was looking at. Funny tho as I still have the mentality of I can't start until 1st Jan! x

Stodgy is the devil..lol
It gets stuck and hurts like hell and makes me sick...slimming clubs really only state the obvious to people who need to loose the weight..but charge you for it.
I suppose if you need the support and need to be checked and weighed..then go for it.
Otherwise try the pouch test.,and get weighed at boots and it won't cost you like a slimming club.

Hi and welcome back!

The app doesn't have the same functionality as using the forum on a laptop etc - but its still set up the same way. The only difference being that on the app, the main areas of the forum are listed on the front screen rather than at the top of the screen.

You posted this thread in the social forum, chit chat section. I have moved it into the Weight Loss Surgery forum, gastric bypass. Which is the most appropriate place for it and you will hopefully get some good advice.

Hope that helps xx

Excellent, thanks so much. I will spend some time today navigating around the ap, as I think chatting to others would be great for me right now. Also want to support others. Thanks again x

I'm 18months post op and settled at a steady weight now around 11st 10lb from 20st at my heaviest. I'm only 5ft so still classed as "obese" but my consultant said to ignore this! I'm very happy with my loss and most importantly how well I feel, I'm now no longer diabetic off all blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes medication and have bags of energy. Every now on then I hit 12 stone and get panicky I've done the pouch test a couple of times. It definitely works, not just in terms of pounds off but also as a reminder about listening to your body and eating the right foods. It's good to do if you want to feel back in control. The first two days are the hardest but it's worth it. Good luck.

I like the idea of the pouch test i will be downloading it on my kindle and looking through it! Although I'm 6wks out its handy to have incase of slip ups! Thank you for this advice on this app!
