Hi All

I'm three week post op and having numbness in the right thigh, it happens a couple times a day for a few minutes, has anyone experience this?

Yes I have - but for me its nerve damage from previous abdominal surgery (not related to my band op).

No I still have the numbness, like a pins and needles sensation. After 10 years though I have got used to it!

Mine is obvioulsy permenant but hopefully yours will go away with time.

Its strange how a cut in the abdomen can present so far away but the nerve obvioulsy serves that part of the body.

The body does strange things sometimes?!

There are a few people on here who have experienced this to some degree or another. For some it is temporary & some seem to have it up to date. They have been told a range of reasons from how they were laid during the op to the aneasthetic. Hope yours is one of the temporary ones, hon & you feel better soon xxx :):)

I get that quite a lot and usually when I've been stood for a while. I've read its called "Meralgia" ...at least thats what I think I get anyway and its when the nerves get compressed in your lower back- usually caused by wear and tear!! Typical- I hit 50 and everything went pearshaped!

Hi All

Thank for your replys, also i've noticed my hands get numb too when asleep, it's straight! it's not like i'm a sleep on top of my hand to stop the blood flow, hope it goes away, it's driving me nuts

I get it in my feet but dr says it is a direct result of the diabetes
