Official London Plus-Size Fashion Weekend

Takes place at Shoreditch Town hall 16-17th February and includes fashion show , clothes swop shop and discussion panel. Is anyone else thinking of going ?

Really interested as I'm fed up with shopping at simply be and all the other plus sized online shops that sell the same stock range once you get past the front Page.

I Google the event but I couldn't find much detail. I'm also depressed that size 12 now counts as plus sized!

How the hell is size 12 plus size?? I'm as size 24 and size 12 is my tiny target! Absolute rubbish...if you are a healthy BMI and a healthy weight and a size 12 how is that plus size? Where did you see that Messie? Xx

Messie is probably referring to an associated advertiser who sell plus-size fashion in sizes 12-34. I don't see that as an indication that size 12 is plus-size, more that a retailer is selling up to size 34 which is plus size.

oh dear here was I proud of myself for being a 12 I think fashionworld do from 12 upwards but I hope that's just advertising their size range rather than all plus x I also noticed some sports wear that says XL is actually 12 to 14 I have to admit won't by that done my best to get to 12 no way am I going to be XL

It was from the press release for the event itself published on the Evening Standard website:

"Although the two events are not officially connected, organis
ers hope that the timing will help raise the status of plus-size fashion in a bid to make size 12-24 models — such as size 16 Ralph Lauren model Robyn Lawley — more commonplace.

It will feature clothes and swimwear for women sized 12+ by 14 designers including Simply Be, Syneeta Badu, Carolyn de la Drapiere and up-and-coming London-based label One One Three."

Totally ridiculous. If I get to a 16, never mind a 12 I shall consider myself skinny.

demoralising ! Mind you the whole size thing is. I'm a 12 in most things. Yesterday pair of jeans came from my catalogue in size 12. I have 7 pairs of jeans and 6 pairs of trousers from their tall range in size 12 that fit prefectly. This pair won't go past my knees. They are on the way back and I'm too vain to get them in a 14 !

I suppose they're thinking that fashion models are a size 8 or 10. Don't be demoralized, size 12 is very slim!!
