Im Finally Getting There!
I have my endoscopy booked for Tuesday but I think my husband and child have given me there colds (cheers guys!) Do you know if it will affect my endoscopy if I can't shift it? Thank you Xx

Hi Toni,

It will not make as much difference as if it was your op day -- if it was your actual op, the hospital would definitely cancel.

But endoscopy is technically *possible* on someone who has a cold ...... but whether the clinical staff carrying out the endoscopy will be delighted is another matter.

Depends how much you are coughing and spluttering by Tuesday -- you have at least 4 days to try and shift it -- dose yourself up on as much Lemsip and Vicks Vaporub etc that you can.

And if you *do* still have the tail end of the cold by Tuesday, I would personally say, DO still take some meds before you go to the hospital ..... because they only need the stomach to be empty (for their camera view), it does not actually matter if some small sugary liquid or pills have been taken as they are not measuring your blood.

Best wishes,
Dose up!

I don't know Toni, as I know nothing about IIH -- I think perhaps ask / phone your IIH team and ask what meds can be taken with your existing IIH meds .....?

I got my OH to research it and its de congestants I can't have so I'm stuffing my face with vitamin c lol Xx
