Oh my God

Hi everyone, well went back to my doctors last week and he weighed me i have now officially lost 13 stone wich is fantastic am so happy. The thing is i mentioned to him about my excess skin and he had a look at my arms and my inner thighs nodded and agreed that the skin would never go back, the next thing is i got home from work tonight and i had a letter with an appointment to see a plastic surgeon and get this on the 23rd December at my local hospital. I cannot beleive it i was so worried that i would not be refered. I am worried because i still have about 6 stone to go, can anybody advise me what this appointment may involve, is he going to send me home and say don't come back to see me for 2 years ect. Which hospital have you been referred to hun?

I dont know anyone locally that has been through plastics yet, but I cant imagine that you will be sent away for 2 years. Having said that hun, I would imagine they would want your weight stabilised before offering plastics as otherwise they might end up doing the job twice if that makes sense. Unless you are disabled by the excess skin I would say better to wait a little while before going ahead with any surgery.

Absolutely fantastic news about the referral though darling. Cant wait to hear how the appointment goes.

Thanks Sam/rybens, i am so gob smaked and so scared, i only metioned it to my doctor now to test the waters so to speak. I do think it is a bit early for me. Sam it is Russells hall near dudley a Mr Wharton is the consultant.

Wow well done on your amazing weight loss so far. I would try and keep an open mind when you go to your appointment and just listen to whatever advice they give you - remember they are the specialist and they have your best interests in mind when they meet with you. I really hope it is a positive meeting x

That's the bit I'm not looking forward to as i have an overhang already. Walsall did say that they would help me when the time came for it to be removed, but will have to wait and see!!!!

thats fab but you dont really want to have cosmetic surgery until you hit goal surely - you will just end up with more loose skin and have to have it done again.
