Omeprazol

Hiya any of you lovely banders take omeprazol? I had to take them before my band and havnt taken them since as I'm scared the capsuals will get stuck xx

I take FasTab, dispersible. Capsules definetly get stuck with me.

I take omeprazol along with many other tablets and have no problems

I don't take these ones but do take various tablets and medication, (tablet and capsule format) and haven't encountered a problem. I did check with my provider that I was ok to take them as one of them cannot be crushed or broken.

all my tablets now are in liquid form
for next few months
not keen, would rather swallow pill yukky

Regarding the Omeprazole capsules, if the are anything like the ones I used to get, give the capsule a shake, does it rattle, if it does open one up and you just might find a small tablet inside, every time I got a new box they where ether just the tablet or a capsule which always contained the tablet.

You may also,fins that post surgery you no longer need to take them.

I have been on Omeprazole for years due to a hiatus hernia. I had the hiatus hernia repaired at the same time as my band was fitted so thought I could stop the meds. I discussed this with the nurse at my band fill and she eplained that due to the gastric acid being forced up by the band it was advisable to stay on Omeprazole. During the initial 4 weeks after surgery my GP prescribed soluble tabs but since then I have managed the capsules. I did read on line somewhere you can empty the capsules into a small amount of juice but haven't tried this as didn't fancy messing with the capsules. Hope this helps?

Yep take them everyday fast tab type I've had an ulcer ,IBS the works and find they really help but u have to take them every day with out fail as if I miss a few days I get the dreaded spasms and u know to well how that feels
