I am just new to this site and am going in hospital for my op on sat. has anyone got any advice they can give me, anything would be good as i am a bit scared......

what surgery are you having? i had a band 10 days ago but cant tell you anything about bypass or sleeve but there are plenty of guys on here who can

Make sure you are properly hydrated the day before so drink plenty of water right up to the nil by mouth cut off point. Try to relax (Yeah I know that's easy for me to say) and remember to let us know when you get home all sorted. Good luck chuck x

i am having the bypass on sunday, just wondered what happens when you get into hospital, when do you know what time your going down the next day???

I think you have to have made 25 posts or so before you can access the profile bit, and then 50 posts before you can personal message people and look at their profiles. It doesn't take long, just keep posting. There are some word games you can play that get your posts up quicker.

i am diabetic so i have a slightly different diet, but all is going ok up to now am day day 6 and already sick of veg, hope it's all worth while.

Chris im 5 weeks post op dont worry youll be fine believe me its not as daunting as you think and before you know whats what its all over and done with best of luck for saturday...

Yeah I am diabetic but not bad, only on a bit of metformin. I will see how I get on with the milk. I like milk but I might not be saying that at the end of two weeks !

I'm a bit late with my well wishes but am sending them to you anyway.

If you read this before you head home after your surgery my one bit of advice is this:

Whoever fetches you from hospital needs to bring a pillow with them. You will want it to support your tum when going round corners/over speed bumps etc. Believe me they forgot mine and i felt it.

Ooops also if you don't need the morphine then don't take it as you'll be feeling well out of it....
