Hi girls, you know where your lefthand side scar is the one under your boob?Does it still pull under the skin?Mine feels like its got a small matchbox under the skin!Where are our poches situated now?I feel mine is emptying just between my ribs in the middle. Also around my scar sites are a bit itchy and red cos I am allergic to adhesives so my midline is quite sore, using 1% steroid cream and getting better.Maz x

Maz, I was aware of something under the skin on the left hand side under the left boob and you are right... it's getting less noticeable after 5 weeks, but I could tell there had been a lot of work done there and towards the middle... at first it felt like heart pain, but my heart is fine...

It's easing as the weeks go on, but for the first 3 weeks I could feel it when I turned over in bed and it was sharp.

I also thought I had touched a 'staple' at one point had a few sharp pangs... but again, they are settling and it's easing.

I'd say it's normal Angel.

Great to hear from you, I'll be in touch.

My scars are doing well now... very red but settling ok... it takes time for everything... you have done so well love.

Love and hugs precious xxx

I was so sore over on the left for ages. It hurt so much when I tried to turn over in bed. I'm not sure where my pouch is but I feel restriction centrally behind my breast-bone so I'm guessing there.
It gets better love.
Itchyness can also be a sign of healing but I too had the allergic reaction to the adhesive.

I still get like stitch type pain in the area underneath the scar on the left. My scars are completely healed but I still sometimes get some pulling and a bit of pain there....a few weeks ago I was convinced Id pulled something but then it just went again  Very strange...deffinately something going on in that area though :D XX

sounds pretty common maz! hope your ok luv xxx

The one to the left is generally where the larger instruments like the stapler go in, so it tends to hurt more. Your pouch is situated just under your sternum at the front.

I went to the out of hours doctor because I thought there was something wrong on my left hand side but the doc said it was still swelling and taking it's time to settle down. I had pulling for 2 weeks post surgery and couldn't lie down at all to sleep, so I slept sitting up on my mum's couch supported by pillows.

I was also allegic to the adhesive on the dressings, even the hypoallergenic ones! lol I was itching like mad for days even after the staples came out. I had bright red rings around the sites for a couple of weeks after they were taken off.

Everything will settle down eventually.

I so wanted to sleep on my side it was funny trying to manouver a saggy sore belly sideways, fold it under and then relax!I slept anyway!

i was sore on the left side for ages as well, i was told it was cos most of the work was done on that side, and i thought the pouch was under the ribs somewhere.
