Op assessment &starting diet to morrow

I've had my pre op assessment got through it ok!
The sister who dealt with me was extremely nice and made me feel ok !
I got my weight correct weight of 33stone and my BMI 84. EEK!
Mt BP wasn't too bad 120 over 84 so other than my aches and pains,
I am relativey ok !
This is very diet is stark does not tell you what you can have for breakfast?
Has anyone else had there operation at Princess Royal Hospital in Orpington
Kent with me El Hasani if so can you help me out with this diet in has much what did they eat for breakfast and lunch?

hi glad your pre op went well sort of diet have they put you on as i belive there is a few,
i have not had my op yet so i would not like to give wrong
info,
somebody will be around shortly who can shed a bit more light on this.

Glad it all went well for you, honey ... I did the milk diet so can't help with your question. Sure someone will soon, though xxx :)
 
All hospitals seem to differ, does your diet sheet say things like cereal? eggs? read through it again, sometimes it make sense the more you read it through.
Good luck though.
 
Diet info

Here is the information sheet I was given :eek:

Two weeks before your surgery you are required to commence a special diet
To reduce the size of your liver.


Your diet is restricted to the following

1 clear soup

2 sugar free jelly

3 bovril or consomme

4 Clear fluids _ tea ,coffee without milk or sugar

5 one portion of steamed or baked NOT fried fish or chicken
For your evening meal green vegetables or a green salad only.
If you are vegetarian you may have eggs for your evening meal with
Green vegetables or green salads

6 Strictly No bread ot bread products. No pasta, potatoes or rice

7 Three apples or pears a day

8 DO not eat chocolate or sweets

DO NOT CHEAT

If you are diabetic you need to monitor your sugar levels and contact your
Diabetic nurse.

For the safety and sucess of your operation , it is important to follow the above
Advice.

Well out of that list they have given you I think the breakfast options are:

1 clear soup

2 sugar free jelly

3 bovril or consomme

or

7 Three apples or pears a day


Yes I know some people might think "soup" odd for breakfast but I have a savoury tooth. Otherwise you are limited to just the sugar free jelly and 1 or 2 apples for breakfast.
