Yuk

Just tried Marmite for the first time  I thought it was beefy, but no, not something I'll be rushing to have again!

Go bovril, it's yummy. I agree marmite is just YUK!

I really like Marmite it reminds me of mature strong cheese but I HATE it with water YUK

Pre op diet inspiration needed please

Day 4 of 14 of pre band diet. I am finding that because I'm not the best cook my meals consist of just the basic elements of the food i.e., defrost a chicken breast; chop it into chunks; dry fry with mushrooms, onions, sweetcorn, dry roasted potato, bean sprouts add balsamic. Bored.com with this :p Getting sick of boiled egg salad also.

I have sweet potatoes now, so might have a bash at dry fry crisps tonight- they never go crisp for me tho  lol Inspiration needed please guys!

Really missing carbs... Love my roast spuds; noodles. So bored with yogurts also lol!

Had it in water, which tasted like last weeks dishwater! Will try it on toast; if still hate it, I'll give Bovril a go xx

Love it !

Marmite is the best . . .bovril is blegh lol

Hi I choose not to have carbs on my pre op as otherwise I would have craved them, and once you stop, after a few days the craving does go! I had prawn salads, scrambled egg (difficult with only 1 egg!) with nice cherry tomatoes, chicken and veg, fish and nice veg etc.. I wasnt hungry at all after a few days on the diet. I did cheat and add gravy (as I wasnt having any carbs I thought 2 tablespoons would be OK) so I could have chicken dinners, without the mash and this was lovely. You can do this!

Without knowing what you have been told you can have its difficult to help with ideas.

Just make sure you stick to the rules, you don't want to risk them not being able to do the op because your liver hasn't shrunk!

It is the choice of yoghurts up to 750cals with 750ml milk, with sugar free drinks, OR 1/2pt milk; 2 portions of fruit; 1 low cal yoghurt a glass of fruit juice; 1 weetabix (or equiv cereal) for b'fast; 1 medium slice of bread; salad with either 50g cheese or 2 eggs. Evening meal= 1 sm potato/ 2 tbsp rice or pasta; vegetables with 100g meat/ fish.

I tried the yoghurt diet on the first day, but missed the texture of food. I may return to it if I need to kick start my weight loss, but prefer option 2 for the choice. I have lost 4 lb in the first 3 days, but would like to get a stone off before the 11th.

Fizzy drink addicts

Hi Guys, I have been a Diet Coke lover for years, and have always turned my nose up at rola cola (as Peter Kay calls it). A friend of mine was banded a few years ago and her way round it was Soda Stream drinks. I wanted to wean myself off it in advance as I thought that I'd miss it, but the Diet Coke flavour is pretty good.
I dilute it really well and have it flat. I have only had the odd sip of proper diet coke since, and it tastes really chemically now! There are other flavours available, and each bottle lasts ages. I wondered whether this little tip is common knowledge on the forum, if not you can have it on me :D

Hi hun I too gave up when I was first approved it was the fizz for me rather than the taste of the drink. I havent had any since omg i cant remember lol when I received my 1st appt so several months. I have read on hear some where that even if the drink looks flat it can take several days for it to be completely flat so becareful if you are going down this road post op. good luck

Some providers - mine included - allow you to have fizzy drinks with a band - it is just down to individual choice and tolerance of it.

I am a sleever and I soooooooo Miss it. Its a real no no doc h said no. Its the one thing i really Miss. But If I Have to give it up then I will I haté diet squash. Oh well.
