...But they do taste lovely this year.
I've never been a great orange eater - would have the occasional satsuma this time of year, maybe one around Christmas to carry on with the tradition - but oranges were, well just too much work. Hard to peel, not guaranteed not to be dried up segments with no juice in them or just full of pips.
Anyway, this year, I started getting into satsumas big time (I think a message here asked how people found them post op and that got me to try them again). Love the simple easy peelers and all their juicy goodness...
This has now progressed onto oranges - I still don't like peeling them (always makes the area just under my thumb nail sting), but the flavour is just wonderful, the citrus smell around as I peel and then eat them is gorgeous and I'm sure they are helping keep things regular too.
I'm aware not to eat too may of them (natural sugar carbs etc etc), but the sharpness and sweetness of them seems so much richer post op for me.
Anyone else found a new love of an old acquaintance?
