Hi im wondering, if you are sick post op does it pull on your tummy?

Do your wounds hurt?

Dreading it xx :banghead:

Yes it does. Sorry. I wretched and it was extremely painful. Hauling myself off the bed and going to the toilet was bad too. Sorry x

I am 2 weeks post op...

While your healing you feel tender (i had open)

I have not yet been sick, but hopefully by the time i/we are sick our tummys should of healed..

Im not allowed on slushy food till after 4 weeks.

TBH so far i have found it easy, the worst thing was the wind straight after the op.

I had keyhole and was sick only a few times and it didnt hurt me at all.

But I can see where you are coming from.

they give you anti sickness drugs which help with the sickness and I was sick twice about a week after and it didnt hurt at alland I had a wound infection too. The bit that hurt the most was trying to get up off the bed or sofa as you obviously use your stomach muscles to get up and down but after a week I was ok so try not to panic you will be fine I am sure

I threw up for hours after the surgery and it never hurt in my stomach.

I was sick as soon as i woke up from surgery (i dont get on with anesthetic) and it didnt hurt (from what i remember) and i have been sick twice this week and it hasnt hurt. Dont worry too much about it hun, if it happens it happens. xxxxx

I was dead scared of being sick (i had that idea that if i'll be sick first few days after op i will damage my pouch) so i strictly followed the diet.

First time I was sick was approx 4 weeks after op and it was fine.

What I have noticed that if I am sick now it is not all the amount which is in my pouch but just that last extra spoon or 2 I had. (sorry for TMI)

I had open surgery like cahching and i have to say i was a bit like Allie in that it was very very fast but it was gentle. There was one sick bit and that was it, not like pre op if i had a tummy bug or something and stood over the loo repeatedly heaving...

I will say 'maybe' Cahchings was more painful as if i remember rightly (please correct me if i'm wrong Cahching) that you had a blooming awful surgery and was quite poorly after which wouldn't have helped you feel any easier.....

Sugga if you follow the rules you shouldn't get too much vomiting xx

I had keyhole surgery not open but it was more uncomfortable rather than painful when I was sick a couple days post op, and it is a lot different being sick post op, very much like when a baby is sick, no heaving as such it just sort of bounces up!

Yes you're right! I was very ill afterwards so may be that had a lot to do with it.

I too have been terrified of being sick. But actually it didn't hurt - but then I only threw up a tiny amount and only 2 retches (sorry TMI).

I am 5 weeks out and all healed up though. I would have HATED to be sick early on when I was still tender.

what you also have to remember is it isnt normal sick it is like regeritation (cant spell sorry) I hardly wretch at all and it is always because I have eaten too much in one mouthful. Dietician said 5pence piece size nibbles!!!!

I had open and I wont lie I was in sheer agony for a couple of weeks Sleeping getting out of bed and even trying to stand up strainght
