Overcoming problems

By getting thin :)

I have worried constantly when going on holiday if i would fit in nthe plane seat and would i get the belt fastened will i have to ask for an extension, i have just managed each time, to do all of these but i have been in such a tizz until i am in my seat strapped in safely then i can relax and enjoy my vacation. I have not been on many rides in the last few years because a couple of years ago I had to egt off the bar wouldnt go over my tummy and everyone was in and waiting for it to start I got out but she made me get back in again and bless her she made me fit in. But everyone was looking i was so ashamed i will never let that happen again. xx Ineed to be slimmer for my own health and well being and to be able to do all the things i enjoy doing without the constant worry xx

problems - worry that anywhere i go i was the biggest person there.... it was all in my head lack of self esteem probably.

now - still have to get my head round that im "normal" and comparing myself to other people - do i look bigger then her?

picking up clothes size 14 thinking -- nee way they will fit me and then being delighted when they do.... (eh?)

dunno if thats really answering the question? xx

Thanks for the replies. Do you also find it that when your in the shower that you worry you will slip and there will be no one to help you. I'm always really anxious. please could you help me overcome this
thanks

I think if your always anxious, then its probable that your GP will be in a better position to help you, we will always be happy to offer support and friendship, but we are not medically trained and I personally wouldn't know where to start to help you overcome your anxiety :)

Are you just anxious bout going in the shower or generally? If its just the shower try and make sure that someone knows when you are going in just in case something happens, are you not too steady on your feet? I know some people have wet rooms and walk in showers these days. You could always pick up a bath seat which you can use to sit on in the shower as well sell them in Boyes they not too expensive neither. Hope that of some use to you. xx

Can't help but be a little suspicious of this thread, I'm sure it's just me being my naturally paranoid old self but when I see this kind of question from a newish member I find myself wondering what the motivation behind it is. I have no desire to offend or doubt the validity of the member but as fatties we are vulnerable to those who might want to use our responses in a negative way outside of this wonderful forum. Again I have no wish to offend the OP and if they are genuine then I apologize right now.

That said if your concern is falling in the shower the answer is a simple one, as has been suggested use a shower chair they are not too expensive, or get some one to fit a handrail, these are cheap and easy to fit, job done

You can also get anti-slip shower mats, especially to put in a bath.

I do have this problem (slightly) as the shower in my flat is "over bath" not a nice slim/square shower unit on its own (which I like) .... so I have to clamber over the edge of the bath to get in, and make sure I don't go anywhere near the sloping sides.

The shower chairs don't always fit inside a bath tub -- I already tried -- and ended up with me and the whole chair slipping inside the bath because of the sloping edges of the bath.

computer says no (LOL!)

was misbehaving and not posting .... and then it posted twice (gggggrrrrrrrr) ;-(

Sharonimo ... computers, huh ... hidden gremlins!!! :)

However, you could try a bath board which goes across the bath from one side to the other ... then you can slide across, if that would help.

Love and hugs
