Painkillers after op

What painkillers will be given / will I need to have on hand after op?

I was given morphine post op as came round in absolute agony.

Other than that, I had fluids and paracetomol on drip too.

On day two was given liquid paracetomol and codeine phosphate

Most hospitals recommend soluble paracetamol :yuk:

I used Calpol 6+ (yes the kids one) or ask your pharmacist for basic Sugar-free liquid paracetamol (much cheaper)
