PANIC !!

Sat here shaking as I write this !!!... Waiting for the consultant to see me to have my stretch done... This is my worst nightmare !! ... Got a phobia about dentists and they want me to be awake!!.. Don't know if I will be able to go through with it , even though I need it , appointment been brought forward a an emergency !!

Just listen to the nurse she will keep you calm i know its not nice but they do talk you through it and will keep you as calm as possible. You can do it you have to to be able to eat, imagine being able to eat ordinary food again, be lovely for you. xx

I have had a procedure down while awake they spray you throat with something so it is numb and the tube goes down really easy so isn't that bad.

Thank you..problem is I am phobic about the dentist etc, so I have panic attacks.. That is why I am having a general anaesthetic.

I had a stretch & was sedated but wide awake. I was terrified before but it was no problem & so much better almost immediately after. I was in hospital for 2 weeks on food & fluid drips before & release the day after my stretch coz I could drink luid & clear soups straight way.
I was hen on clear soups & fluids for 4 weeks ,then onto purees for 2 week, now on soft foods. Some foods are a struggle but hopital happy with my progress. It will be so much better for you. Good luck.

Thank you everyone, all done and stretched.. Only 1 little moan, when I came out of my op, it took them over 5 hours to find me a hospital bed
Stuck in recovery all that time, annoying thing is I am fine, but they won't let me home " for legal reasons !) x
