Sorry guys n gals, but I disagree on some of your points here. Yes she is a celeb and yes, some may say that she should have come clean and not mislead people with the 'healthy eating and exercise' line (though I can kind of get my head around that - see my 'Fern Britton Syndrome' thread).
Moral high ground? That she decided not to bare all to the world over what is essentially a private & socially sensitive matter. She is a celeb but she is *human* first and foremost. Just like us.
Yes, I am sure having the lovely Phil in the kitchen is a boon, but fat is still fat; whether it's celebrity or not. She still had the same issues that lead us to our decisions and probably faces more temptation that the average Joe or Jane here *because* of her privileged lifestyle. And having a chef for a hubby didn't help before WLS did it? 'Else why would she have ballooned to a size 22/24 and had to resort to WLS. Just like us.
The fact is she *does* exercise which has obviously helped with her weight loss and toning. Even before her WLS she took part in a bike ride on the Nile. I wish I could *ride* a bike, let alone ride the Nile! Exercise is a dirty word to some of us, but as part of the journey it is a 'necessary evil'. Good for her for getting on with it.
As for the Paul O'Grady/Cuba anomaly - maybe one of them is pre-recorded?
I doubt that Madonna ever gets such a bad time of it but then she's 'thin' and thus socially acceptable, so no one would dare hold her up as a pariah. She of the obviously surgically-altered face & sinews that could out-do a featherweight boxer. I reckon she probably hasn't seen the inside of a kitchen since she became famous (or should that be infamous..?) But that's OK, isn't it?
