Hi all I'm 3 weeks post bypass and have had 2 very heavy periods since is this normal don't know weather I'm moving or going with them ?

I dont think its unheard of. What were your periods like pre-op?

It depends on if you had heavy irregular periods before your op. either way if it continues see your GP.

I have PCOS and never had periods before surgery. I'm now on the mini pill, but get a heavy period every month :-(

When I had my gall bladder out many many years ago my period - which had finished a week before - restarted on the operating table.

Definitely worth having a chat with your GP but try not to worry x

Iam over 2 yrs post op and up until today never had a period for 3 months. Got to the point I even done a test last week just incase. Since weight loss they are totally erratic x

Thankfully having had a total hysterectomy 10yrs ago due to severe debilitating PMS I have none of these challenges. As much as I may have dreamed of another baby hopefully a pink one after 3 blues I couldn't risk it my pms has worsened with each pregnancy so I wasn't the best mum a lot of the time, I fact probably lucky to have my bots with me still. Since that op & the removal of all those hormones etc I am a better human being & never have those monthly problems making life hell you all have my sympathy ladies.
