The only answer to this is it will vary from person to person, everyone heals and scars differently. Some peoples scars may fade to virtually nothing others (like me) may heal quickly and have pronounced scars.
Mine are very noticeable but they dont bother me at all x
My port one is a slighty puffy line but not red..It's more obvious now I'm smaller but nothing to worry about really as it's covered by my bra and clothes most of the time.
My other ones are now just lines. Over time I'm sure they will become less noticeable Em.
As long as they are not inflamed and weepy I'm sure they are allright. They are still newish for scars I guess.
As always phone your team about anything medical, they are there to assist and reassure you x
I cant even spell the word protruded i think it is
The nurse who done my fill told me they were protruded when she saw me on Monday, Theres a slight chance they will go smaller but she doubts they will, She said it just happens with some people thats all. My biggest sticky uper is about half a cm high :O
I wonder if the surgeons technique has anything to do with this, as my bypass scars are almost invisible. Where as my gallbladder scars are very red and a little raised. Its only been 5 months since my gallbladder op though so they may improve over time.
I produce what some doctors call hypertrophic scars and some call keloid scars.
My WLS scars are all red and raised and my knee replacements look like 12" worms are crawling up my knees - very attractive!!
My GP did prescribe a steroid tape which reduced the redness slightly and the itching but I can't have it for ever
My only scars not like it? - 2 caesarean ones!! A back op I had years ago looks like train tracks and my thyroid like my hubby had cut me throat - faded now but still thick!!
One of my scars (where the liver retractor sat) is a little raised but I don't care. I have so many odd lumps and bumps it's just one more to add to the odd collection
mine have gone very faint since July but that is thanks to superglue!! I also use bio oil or cheaper version rescue oil and it seems to help. Hope you feel better about them soon but mine hardly stick out at all except port when i lie flat but just turn over lol
