Well I have finally plucked up the courage to speak to my GP about WLS and have an appointment with him this afternoon.

I don't hold out a lot of hope as he is not the most sympathetic of doctors but I guess if I don't ask, I don't get!

I've got to say that my GP has been brilliant with me and supported me all the way,to any body else who's GP isnt you have to get your point over in a way they cant refuse.

Lisa when you go to see your gp go with confidence. If you go in thinking you won't get it then I'm sure your unsypathetic gp will fob you off. Have you checked out the criteria for your area?? Do you fit the criteria?? If so tell your gp this because then he will know that you've reseached this. If you do fit the criteria then I'm sure you are entitled for your gp to apply for funding. When I first approached my GP he completely dismissed what I was saying. I waited a few weeks, did a bit of research then made another appointment with a different GP at the practice. He agreed to refer me.
Don't give up at the first hurdle xxxxxx
