I hope that someone can help me with this delicate issue. I know this is a silly question but .....I am on day 7 of milk diet and I haven't "been" for a few days - is this normal? Sorry to be such a doughbag but need to know.

I'm thinking this is normal as I've only been once in the last 4 days!

I don't feel the need to go so it's not constipation. I just think there's nothing there to get rid of.

I am on day 6.

Hi there,

As you are eating no solid food, there is not much there for your body to create poo. It will be like this a little after the op too, once you are back to normal food it will stabilise.

My first jobbie came 10 days after the op! And yes it felt good....LOL

Hi Am,

I'm not on milk diet yet, but have done the Cambridge Diet in the past that consisted of Milk shakes. When I first started it I didn't go to the loo for 7 days. I think that was just my body adjusting to it.

I always thought of it that if you are only taking in liquids and nothing soild then, yes you are likely to go to the a poo less often.

Also remember the quantity is less than when you are eating so there is less to pass.

As long as you are not feeling uncomfortable and don't feel constipated I wouldn't worry to much. When I was on a liquid only diet I never went to the loo daily, maybe every 2-3 days.

I'm sure one of the milk diet experts will correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi
I start the milk diet next week and was told by the nurse at my 1st pre-op that poo-ing could be rare and possibly not solid.
So glad we can talk 'poo' here - it is quite a concern for many of us, I think!

Hi when I did the milk diet last year under the obesity clinic I was told I needed to take 1-2 fybogel a day so that you can go to the toilet. Make sure it is fybogel though because the pharmacists kept trying to give me senokot but that isn't any good according to the hospital I was under it has to be fybogel.

I did the milk diet, and became constipated. Took lactolose and it did the job. If you feel like you need to 'go', but can't, you may need to do something about it before it gets compacted. Phone hospital if you are unsure. x x
