Strange you should mention popcorn. My kids love the microwave popcorn and I often share a bag with them as it's light, it's veg and also filling and smells lovely, as well as not needing to be fried, baked etc.

Isn't there quite a bit of oil/fat already in the micro-popping bags? I always thought they tasted a little oily when I ate them - but not too much to worry about
Think I may go for a maker - there's one for £10 in Argos!
I have salted popcorn every so often, when I feel the need to pick at something. Have had the microwave stuff no probs.
With the hot air poppers, you'll find that flavouring doesn't stick to the popcorn as their is no oil on it etc. You can get round this by using some of the spray oil, but then it ends up the same as microwave stuff.
my dr told me popcorn was a nono with the band not sure how bypassers can tolerate it but i think it can be a problem for banders. im off popcorn anyhow as i ate TONNES the night before my appendicitus and later read a journal linking it with it and im sure its to blame lol
