Hi everyone my main wound is scabby n crusty but around it it's red raised and itchy - I'm going to try and get an appointment at the docs tomorrow- has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Xx

Hi fizz, as long as its not weeping it sounds ok, mine was weeping for about 2 weeks then went on antibiotics but best to get it checked out.
Xx

Mine itch like demons and the glue is peeling off, but they are fine. As long as they aren't oozing apparently, and you have no temp you should be okay

Small amount of redness round a wound edges is the normal healing process - however if you have redness more than 1cm from your wound edges, increased pain, it feels warm to touch - regardless of it being wet or dry you should go and see someone at your surgery as your wound could be developing and infection, and your temp wont go up until your pretty unwell with an infection, best nip it in the bud !
Oh and no picking! LOL x

LOL ! Sorry Bossy hat on tonight - getting in practice for going back to work tomorrow! x

Good luck going back to work xxx

I have not 'seen' any glue. My incisions are very neat and glued really well. Not had one problem. But not seen the glue to pick.

I feel odd now lol

Don't feel odd it sounds as though your wounds are healing really well. Well done.

Thanks all I was given some cream she said the red was normal but scab slightly infected it's a lot better now, just the itching that was annoying xx

Oh hun, put your mind at rest and see the nurse...or GP....

What I do with mine is...each night before bed, I get a small cup, fill it with boiling water and sea salt....then get some cotton ear buds, and clean around it all, not on it, but around...it cleans the dried blood and keeps it clean.
