I have started what I call my post op box with all sorts of goodies in all brought on special offers:D for when I come home, Can anyone else think of anything that may be of use to go in there.

At the moment I have:
Multi vitamins with iron
Protein powder
hair, nails and skin tabs
boveril
oxo (chicken & Veg)
Stock pots (to make clear soups)
SF Squash
Nic's (phatgirls) recipes (which I must say look yum, yum)

Great thread! I've been thinking about this a lot myself!!

Hiya,
My vitamins, iron & calcium were all prescribed by hospital for me on discharge, as it was recommended liquid only meds for 6 weeks... I am 8 weeks on now & just restarted tablets again..... I know different hospitals may vary....
some I have spoken too also need sanitary protection post-op, as periods often start even if you aren't due.... (I did too).

It sounds like you are well organised though....

Good Luck

I knew I would be on liquids for at least 2 weeks post op so I stocked up anything liquid! I tried to make it intereresting and tasty Baxters Beef Consomme was delish. Tescos cherries and berries squash is great hot or cold. Lots of different teas, sugar free jellies with Dream Topping, which is also good frozen (oh and for some reason my lips are always dry since the op so lip balm is to good to take into hosp and to have at home when you get back)

I think i'll start planning my hospital box after my first pre op on the 20th March..... Unless i see a bargain somewhere of course lol xx

How about a thick luxurious body moisturiser as so many people say they suffer from very dry skin x

sugerr free ice lollys are good or make your own with juice. no bits low fat yougurt or fomagefraise. low fat readdy made custard, although this was to rich for me. hinze or ww tommato soup. , gripe water for the wind if you need it,...............kath x

Brilliant idea Linda.

One suggestion from me, you may need to think about chewable multi vits for the earlier days post op. I had the bassets chewable for about the first 4 - 6 weeks. I actually used to look forward to them.

Hey lady did you get a date change for your pre-op and ain't telling us

Ooop sorry Lisa i meant April 20th lol....

Might start a food cupboard up with soups n things...

Julie everything that is in my box has been brought either on a buy one get one 1/2 price, or special offers in the supermarket.

I have got some Dove intensive moisturizer today, I have also got bits and pieces for the hospital again when on offer.
