I agree with the other comments that it is really important to focus on sticking to it so your Liver is as small as possible, and just remember that as you are taking onboard less than 1000 cals a day your weight will drop without question. WLS is not a competition - and the challenges in the first weeks post-op are enormous, without us putting pressure on ourselves by getting obsessed by the inevitable loss compared to that of others. Having said that, of course the urges to leap on the scales cannot be denied as it is engrained in us from years of battling our weight. I'm three months post bypass, and I was terrible with my weighing both pre-op and in the first weeks post. My provider said to weigh myself not more often than fortnightly! Hello - are you serious? Twice a day more like ... But he was (of course) right - weighing too often leads to despondency (and that feeling cuts deep into what should be our feeling of liberation and control). I have now reduced the frequency of my weighing considerably.
FYI - I did four weeks of four WW soups and four Muller Lights, and lost over a stone pre-op. I have lost four stone - in real terms that's size 24 to 18. The challenges have been huge but hey, the results are equally big!
Good luck. We are all here for you - just ask and someone will come along to answer your question, or provide support even if at times it seems like tough love. xxx
