Hi everyone I had a question I been told to do oxo or bovril consommé for lunch but don't like either I been told slim fast shake for breakfast can't I just have another for lunch it won't do any harm will it ?

John, the oxo is for your salt needs, have you tried other flavours, you can get oxo in beef, lamb, veg and chicken?

Check with you team. I was told the oxo bovril was for the salt intake. A shake has many more calories so I personally wouldn't replace. Have you tried knorr chicken or vegetable stock cubes. I hate oxo & bovril but can do those. Also Waitrose do some nice cans of beef or chicken consommé very low calories - check if you can have these.

Oh I didn't know that but can't I get tinned soup ain't it the same thing ?

Apparently not different ingredients & the stock cubes re relatively high in salt. This is needed on the pre op diet. First time I've ever been asked to ensure I have high salt LOL

Ok I guess trip to local supermarket is in order I guess I learn a lot now thanks all

I dont like these either, but I bought some Knorr cubes. I've had the lamb one yesterday (am on day 4 of milk diet) and it was actually really nice. I'm just about to go and make myself a chicken one.

I found the knorr one easier to stomach than Oxo or bovril.

Well I been told I'm not on the milk diet I got to have a slim fast shake for breakfast then consommé for lunch an chicken or fish for dinner will see if it works

I would just follow tht then & you should be OK.

I'd imagine at 18 cals for the stock you wouldnt be able to just replace it with something with a great deal more calories. Best check with your dietician

Hi
Today is one week post. I ate some no sugar added raspberry frozen yogurt from Kiki loco. That must have been a no no. Lots of gas and diarrhea. Anyone explain this to me please.

Possible high in fats or sugar substitutes, to large a portion or just the wrong day sometimes you can have something & it's safe another day you dump, just the quirks of a bypass I'm afraid.
