Hi, I'm presently working on getting all my stuff together for insurance approval and hoping it doesn't take too long. Mostly just browsing around soaking up information of what to expect. Didn't want to be a Lurker...

I'm sure your insurance will approve your surgery asap.
Mine only took 4 days to come back to me.
What type of operation have you chosen?

I have decided on Gastric. Just found out yesterday that my surgeon is requiring a cardiology consult and clearance so that's going to set me back as far as getting everything to him. First appointment I could get if May 21st.

Does this mean you had your insurance approval?
I'm having my cardiology consult in hospital the same morning of the op. Hope there will be no problems with that.

I attended a seminar, had my appointment with surgeon, got clearance from my pulmonologist who follows my Asthma and Sleep Apnea, scheduled my appointment with cardiologist, got half my psych evaluation done and got my letter and notes faxed from PCP, so as soon as I get my psych evaluation they will present it to Insurance for authorization. I'm probably looking at a surgery date in late July or August.
