Baxter's mum
Just got back from having my endoscopy today and if they ever ask me to have another one they'll have to knock me over the head and drag me into the hospital. The procedure was done by the trainee doctor, although the consultant was present. The throat spray only numbed one side of my throat and I couldn't stop gagging throughout, which just made the procedure last even longer. Turns out I have a mild hernia and some imflammation, so I guess it's good to find that out, but at one point a nurse was grabbing both of my hands whilst another held my head to stop me ripping the tube out and making a run for it.
I wish they'd let me have the sedative but I live alone so they said no. I don't want to scare anyone here who hasn't had the procedure yet but there's no getting away from the fact that it is most unpleasant and I would highly reccommend that you ask for the sedative.
And people say that we're taking the easy way out by having surgery lol.
