 Since having a vomiting bug i have now 3 wounds thats leaking and sore  so back to the dr later at 4.20, think one of them are infected ( same spot as first time round )

Are any fellow diabetics having problem healing ?

:hug99: Hi Emm :hug99:
That sounds really sore, I just wanted to send you some hugs. Hope the doctor sorts you out.;):grouphugg: xxx Em xxx

thankyou girls, they are pretty sore but hey sure they will heal asap, dotn help where have to keep blowing me nose hard, when i do i feel a squidge of gunk coming out lol xxx

grrr i have yet anpther big infection in the same spot at before, Dr said the area is more prone to infection due to the 2 incisions in a small amout of time (3 weeks) and also due to previous infection :(

have 10 days of anti biotics to take in medicine form

:gen126: I hope the antibiotics kick in soon and you start to feel better soon hun xxx:hug99:

I hope your tablets kick in quick Emma.

Has the doc given you any dressings/advice etc?

Only one of mine got infected and was told to cover it with a dressing for a couple of days then leave it off a few days to see how it went. I was on antibiotics for 2 weeks so I understand what your going though.

Fingers cross they clear up soon x

I totally feel for you on this one as my wounds took around eight and a half weeks to totally close up. They were rather weepy and I was sick of going to the walk-in center but as soon as I hit nine weeks they were all fully healed and closed. Seemed like an awfully long time to me and because of that my scars dont look four and a half months old, I dont mind though, I call them my war wounds lol
I hope yours heal soon xx
Steph xx

Thanks for this post Emm, i hadn't thought of the dangers of infection for us diabetics (been more prone to them). Am having slight concerns now as my surgery will be open and i'll have a heck of a scar to infect.....

On a lighter note, it may mean i get more time to spend at home adjusting to my new inner friend :)

Hope you feel better soon xxx

thanks girls for all the replies. I do think that being diabetic things generally take more longer to heal and are more likely to get problems, But its all part of the journey ahead :)

Xxxx

thankyou, xx

have they swabbed the wounds ? my 1st op i had mrsa my wounds were still open at week 6

Hi Em i am not diabetic but i am having probs with my wounds 2, u r just a few days b4 me and still my wounds have not all healed, thankfully no infection but have bee back to the nurse 4 times now to have them changed.
All have healed but one now and that is being a mega bi**h, it is forever weeping and congealed blood on top of it, think its the biggest wound right in the middle of my tummy.
My nurse gave me some seaweed dressings for the wounds on the 3rd visit and that healed them all but one.
Hope urs heal up soon take care luv Roch xxx
