Profanity Filter in Chat

I just tried to the Chat(BACK!!) feature and it works pretty well, but thought I should let the administrators know that the profanity filter is working a little overtime.

It's censoring me for words like "bath" and "breath" and even though I'm from the good ol' US of A, and not familiar with British slang, I don't think those are bad words in the UK.

Maybe turning down the censor a notch or two might be a good idea. :)
 
Hi Pierce it will not let you type in birmingham, derbyshire and some other things but it will let you say all the words that are band on the main forum. Some a lot worse than others.
 
You can type in those two town names.

Ive seen the list of bad words and its quite good. If you want me to add any just let me know in chat.

Very right too! Disgusting words. I guess you must have an American layout on your keyboard? Certainly can't type those words on a UK keyboard. It'll buzz if you do, then send an electric shock through your fingers that is extremely painful!!

You have much to learn my American friend. We have weird bad words over here. 'Shower' is another one, though it lets me type that as I'm a moderator :clap: but even I can't type 'carbohydrate' in the low carb forum. It refuses to register and I find myself logged out for 24 hours whenever I try :confused:
 
Actually, thinking about it again, shower and bath are clean words aren't they? Especially if you add the prefix soap. Should work then

Birmingham and Derbyshire should definitely be used with caution though:eek:

Hi Pierce :D

I've been in Chat tonight and we had 11 members. Tesmaralda highlighted to me about still being able to use certain profanities and they show in text. You can definitely still see the f word in full!
