Pureed Food

Anyone know if you can puree Jamaican Jerk Chicken, which is my favourite meal?

Cheers!

Also what else is good for pureeing? On week two of my puree/mashed diet and getting bored of smoothies, porridge and pureed korma curry!

I've puréed curried mutton, so I'd say yes. Make sure you have taken out the bones and you have plenty of sauce :)

You can purée anything really. Sunday dinner, fish in sauce etc. just give it a go.

Thanks, that's good to know!

I'm going to get some tomorrow, plus some sardines or mackerel as I love fish and seafood too.

Sadly the main reason why I AM over weight is because of mutton curry and jerk chicken
hahaha. Will puréed versions taste just as moorish?

Yesterday I got some Jerk Chicken in a can from Asdas. Also cans of Lamb Bhuna, Chinese Chicken Curry, Beef Hotpot and Chickpea Dahl.

I put the Dahl in the blender to soften it even further and had half a can for dinner tonight, it was delicious!

I had my Gastric Sleeve on 28/10/12 and have been on a liquid diet of bland tasteless consommé soups and watered down shakes and juice. I've gritted my teeth and persevered and have reminded myself that this is only temporary. I've had no hunger pains or pangs at all since the op...........until I started reading this thread and naughty northerngordon making my gastric juices flow and my mouth water with reminders of what I'm missing out on and what I am NOW yearning for more than anything. Jerk chicken, mutton/lamb curries with mountains of basmati rice - oh how I love thee.
Keep up the good work northengordon, it's just the sort of motivation I really need.

Thanks mate! And hang on in there, I'm still on pureed stuff for the next 2 weeks yet - it's all about finding stuff that's got nice flavours.

Get Chicken Noodle soup and drain the noodles away, add a sprinkle of black pepper to spice it up a bit, gorgeous!

Sounds tasty
Great Idea Northerngordon, I'll be stocking up later this morning

LOL I remember my purée stage! It was actually the hardest for me coz I hated the texture more than fluids. Just a word of warning guys rice (pasta & bread) are often a big no no after weight loss surgery. Just a teaspoon of rice for me even after 8 months is unbearable. The pain is awful. I still can't eat bread but can manage a tiny bit of spaghetti if it is cooked to within an inch of its life & I chew ,chew & chew. also these 3 are big hitting carbohydrates which should be avoided or at least only have in moderation. Some do not have any trouble with these foods so as with all our journeys it's trial & error. Good luck with your stages.

Thanks Bellydancer57, I reckon 75% of the reason why I put on so much weight was due to my addiction to curries and eating massive portions of rice at least twice a day. During my pre-op diet I lived on just veg/ salad and fish and chicken and I loved it. I didn't miss bread, rice, cereals and pasta at all ( though I still miss cakes and biscuits ) and I have vowed to continue the healthy food option once my stomach heals properly. I'm hoping I can continue to avoid those carbs in the future. Happy chewing and thanks again Bellydancer57
