It depends on your car insurance company, some will say until your GP signs you a letter whereas others will state 2 ot maybe even 6 weeks!
Give them ring and check and they will tell you.
When I had my appendix out I was "uninsured" for 4 weeks and my Gp recommended 6 weeks in case I needed to break suddenly.

They sent me a generalised admissions brochure and it didnt give time frame (cos it will be sent out to people having various procedures) but said something about being able to perform an emergency stop comfortably. I know for c-sections its 6 weeks, however long it is isnt gonna stop me just need to sort transport to and from uni.
