Hi all I've just received my next appointment this morning could someone tell me what to expect I'm due to go and be weighed to see if I've met my weight loss target is it just a matter of been weighed and that's it and also when I get to appointment with surgeon what will that involve thank you.

I had an appointment 3 months ago with dietician and nurse and was set a weight loss target my next one is the 28th of this month and I'm nhs xx

Can't help u with any nhs questions sorry. I was private so didn't have any goals etc. I'm sure there will be a thread on here with loads of nhs ladies. I've heard a lot about group sessions a tier 3 things but again, I don't really know what they are. Hope u find your answers x

Sjwood Hi and welcome! So what NHS hospital are you attending as they differ so much around the country. I didn't have to do 3 tier but did have to lose weight before my second appoint and keep it falling. So we need to know where about you are or search your hospital I'm sure they will be only to glad to help you. Good luck and your on your way it's hard the waiting but worth bit in the end. What surgery do you hope to have or haven't you made your mind up. They like you to research the various surgeries so you know about them and how they work and they are a tool not a quick fix.

Hi Janet thank you for the reply I'm with Sunderland royal hospital they told me the steps I would be taking but not sure what is going to happen in this next appointment seems like a long way to travel just to be weighed and thought they might be more to it I do know I don't have to do tier 3 xx

Hey Janet I see your from Poole, can I ask why you didn't need to do the tier 3?? Thanks[/QUOTE

Hi Helen,
I had on my records at GP's that I had done many different diets and going going Rosemary Connelly, Slimming World plus all the other fat clubs having injections and diet pills over the years and referred for gym etc They had a records of my weight fluctuating up and down over the years constantly. Also I'm a diabetic and they monitored my weight etc plus my BMI was 45 on 5ft 1in stature :-(

I was a Sunderland NHS patient also Helen and like SJ mentioned they are not using the same process, I didn't even know what tier 3 was before coming here was never mentioned during any of my consultations.

I suppose different health trust areas have different policies, post code lottery alive and kicking.
