Realistic banding recovery time

Hi all, I have read the literature but want to hear from the horses mouth so to speak. What is the recovery like following banding? I have taken the week off from work as I have been advised that should be enough.
What are your thoughts and experiences?
Many Thanks in advance.

i was ok to return after 5 days but as mine worked up to a bank holiday weekend I had more, but would have been fine. Most do find 7-10 days and you may feel a bit tired cos of being on liquids only. But office based sedentary jobs they say a week is fine. It's always hard yo know tho as no-one really knows an individual's recovery time.

Thanks, I realise it must be difficult to know exactly how I will be. I have booked a week off but will be very careful about what goes into my work diary for the following week as well.

I was given a 2 week note by THG I could have returned after a week. The first few days were rough and I slept for hours but by day 5,6,7 was feeling fine.
Its hard to judge as we are all different. Good luck

I must admit this is the one thing that is worrying me, I may consider booking another weeks annual leave just in case.

I took a fortnight off but could have gone back after a week - my job is sedentary so it wouldn't have been an issue.

Will I have any bloods taken pre operatively?

Not necessarily, I had mine via HW and didn't have pre op bloods. They took a blood test on checking in to the hospital but none prior.

Yes about two weeks till you feel normal again xxx

I have given myself a week too BlueGirl. Hopefully that will be ok. If not it'll mean draughting in help! :O Im busy paying for this, I dont really want to hire anyone in.
Im intending to use the week to catch up on all the tax paperwork.. in bed surrounded by folders and a calculator. Sweeeeet! lol

I can only have a week off as got promoted and need to get surgery done before I start new role. I am good with general anaesthetic and recovery from ops in general as gad quiet a few so fingers crossed. Luckily my current role is a sedentary desk job.

Thought I'd update this. Been 1wk since surgery and I'm glad I had this site! ! Was going to return to work after 5 days initially but after reading booked whole week off plus bank holiday so 8 days in total. Although no pain and reasonably active I am still very weak. I can be doing something then suddenly hit a wall and feel like someone has switched the energy plug! !! Managed half the supermarket with my friend yesterday before handing her the trolley and was exhausted. Prior to surgery I was going to gym 3 x wk and was told could return after 1wk. My advice ...... take as much time off as possible and listen to your body. I have visions of blacking out and soaring off the end of the treadmill if I stuck to advice and not my common sense ha ha! !!

wow nutty - you were told you could return to the gym that soon? Most providers advise a good 5-6 weeks before returning to such level of exercise

Hi was told gym after 1wk but not rowing machine bikes or weights then after 1mth swimming and normal training. Was under Mr El-Hasani via WLSGROUP at Chelsfield Park. Just glad I'm going at the pace my body is telling me.
