I cant wait til i get my phone call to tell me what time my op is going to be. I have less than 3 days but need to know to sort out child and animal care and travel time.

Can't you call your hospital and explain this to them?

I tried that and they said they didn't have the surgeons list yet, I have had to sort out nursery, school, my daughters birthday and the next day she's going to a mates birthday..... Plus my hubby who for some reason don't function without me lol...x

Hope you will get an answer, all I received was the time I had to be at the hospital by. The day before they then asked me to be there an hour earlier. I didn't find out my surgery time until I was actually in the hospital . . .

Im the same as top cat. I was only told what time to be there but also advised that they wont tell me the time as the list can change a number of times. As it was I was readied to go down twice but delayed at the last moment due to problems with previous patients!

Its more the time i have to be at hospital i'm concerned with than the time of surgery. my kids have a sleepover with their godparents, one of whoms birthday is 2 days after surgery so need to sort that. Friends looking after cat but we have to feed them before we go so need to know so can inform them what time to go. Was hoping i would get the call today but too late in the day.

Its a bit off that they haven't advised you of that yet then! if you need to make plans maybe it'd be safer to assume you will need to be there first thing just to allow you to be prepared.

I called up and couldn't get an answer either! Discharge is very early in the morning don't you think?x

Yes very early, but i can understand it as they need to get the next patients in. I'm kind of glad its early as it means i can visit my brother in law as he lives not far from dolan park hospital and he has work at 2pm. havent seen him for a few months but great friends with him. And it means i can get back at a reasonable time to do my kids reading with them. Even while i convalesce i can listen to them read so they know that mummy is not feeling well but will get better. Just like when i'm having a flare.
