Recovery

Hi all,


I am sure that there are many posts on here about recovery and I have seen some but I wanted to ask how long your recovery took? How long did you wait before you went back to work? Did you need someone to look after you following surgery? How long did you wait before you returned/went to the gym?

2 weeks off work. Could have gone back after a week. Definitely needed someone with me for about 3 days after as my tummy muscles were shot.

Didn't join the gym until 6 months post op but generally it's 6 weeks. I did lots of walking though.

Thank you. I am very active now, I am going to miss the gym unfortunately the gym is not enough to keep my weight down x

2 weeks off work ( wife took 3 days off to be at home with me ) & returned to gym after 3 weeks post op.
Remember our experiences are our bodies, you will know when the times are right for you

3 weeks off work; now 6 weeks (today) post surgery and the deep fatigue is lifting.

I took 2.5 weeks off but only because I commute to work every day and wasn't feeling to catch train and tube while on clear liquids.

Sounds good thanks for your responses. Are you finding everything ok? I am going to be sleeved the 19th of this month so nervous after a bad band slippage and being so ill with it

I'm fortunately perfectly well.
I'm almost 12 weeks post op and eating everything in obviously tiny portions.
My major problem is meal planning but I'm learning.

I was nervous too - we all are - but the outcome makes it worthwhile and this place is fabulous for support.

As I said upthread, I've been fine post surgery other than the fatigue. No pain, no need for special help.

Thanks. Think it's just because my gastric band went so wrong I am just scared of being ill - even dying. Dramatic I know
