i did wonder that, think it made me think it maybe to do with the op as i saw a ladies scar who had open bypass op and her stomach was covered with red spots but i didnt like to ask!

Hi Lisa, didn't want to read and run, unable to help sorry..I'm sure someone will be along soon though who can help.

Do they itch or hurt at all?

Since your surgery was so recent, it sounds like it may be contact dermatitis. It could be a new allergy to the betadine and/or the sutures.

If you were further along, I might've suggested a zinc deficieny, but it just seems too soon for that.

hi
no the spots dont itch and i've been taking zinc capsules since my op.

my mum and I have red spots. These ones are called De Morgans after a Dr Campbell De Morgan who was born in Clovelly ~ that really steep little town in Devon. Yep thats right I just Googled it.

They look a little like tiny red blebs or blood blisters and we quite like them, we call them rubys, they quite glow in the sunshine! Not that my tummy sees much of that LOL

Any hoo . . . . if thats what you've got they're harmless and occur more often in the over 40's, but they do not look like a spotty pink rash, that I would suggest is some sort of irritation either internal or external. If it's not bothering with itching I'd leave it alone and mention it the next time I saw somebody medical. Could be your body detoxing

But I'm pre op... However, when you said they were all over someone elses tum it sounded familiar...
