scared but excited. ..

The main ones on here are band, bypass and sleeve, though there are some who've had a balloon or a d/s on here too.

The best advice I can give is to really look honestly at your eating habits and do research to find out which procedure will best address those habits. No one surgery is right for everyone, they all have individual benefits and drawbacks.

Good luck with the seminar, and if you have specific questions just ask:)

You will find the seminar really useful, but I agree with Sarahrob, you have to be very honest with yourself. I haven't had my surgery yet but I know I have made the right decision for me just by a bit of brutal self honesty and reading every scrap of information I can to be as informed as possible. I haven't been using this forum for long but it is full of people with good advice and experience so I am sure you will find it helpful. Welcome x

Yea ive come to realize brutally honest that I am to fat.. I cant get the attention I deserve from work home and friends..I need to be more healthy...

Hi Shannon

One of my 'biggies' is thinking like a big person. I hide behind my weight, historically it's been my excuse for everything bad in my life. I know that this is no magic wand but it's a tool to help me regain control of my weight. When I lose weight, I'll need to embrace it, not sabotage myself as I've done in the past.

Don't allow yourself to pin your self worth on your size. I'm not sure what attention you crave, but in looking at yourself from inside out should help you learn to love yourself. Until you do that, you will find it difficult to let down barriers.

Like the others have said, do your research, analyse your eating patterns and speak to your GP.

Good luck.

Hiya Shannon,
Good luck with the seminar and good luck with your research. The more research you do the more prepared you will feel! x x
