Hello I'm new to this forum. Had my gastric band 2 weeks ago tomorrow. Really need help. Been finding this liquid diet post-op so hard. Can't stop cheating and trying to eat food. Sent home from work ill earlier today ended up eating two packs of crisps :'-(

Yesterday I ate cheese and toast!! Everytime I do this I break my heart and worry myself sick I' doing irreplaceable damage to my stomach pouch and band.

Why do I keep doing this?? I paid £7,000 for this op myself because I couldn't get funding on the nhs and drs jst told me to stop eating despite trying everything and all diets not working.

How will I know if the damage has been done?? Really upset x

Please stop eating and go back to fluids. You're in real danger of damaging your stomach if you carry on eating these things too soon. Your band can slip and cause all sorts of problems. You've paid an awful lot of money to ruin your stomach and jeopodise your health. You need to sit yourself down and think about if you want your band or if you need to have it removed if you're not ready to live by the rules.

Sorry to be so blunt but what you're doing is just a bit daft.

Kate x

Hello there

At the end of the day all anyone of here can do is advise you that what your are doing is wrong & dangerous, but you know that already.

Do you have support from your provider/dietician post op??? If your having trouble sticking to the post op diet how did u manage the pre op diet??? At the end of the day this weight loss surgery journey is hard work , its just a tool and you have to work with it hun as does everybody no matter wot wls they have had. Your obviously struggling so fone your team and lean on them for the emotional and dietary support, tell them your finding it hard ( don't suffer in silence). All we can do is help via the site but the real changes have to be made by you. I do wish you all the very best - Julie xx

Aw god hun you'll really have to stop that you don't want to waste that much money. I sort of understand where you're coming from cos on the pre op diet i was quite a joker to be honest but i promised myself once the band is in its a new me and Im way to much of a wimp to break the rules.
Im finding the slim fast rich choc shakes great, would you not get a few of those?
Sit down and remind yourself how serious this op is, get reading all the success stories online and before and after pictures and remind yourself that that'll be you!
Start organising what sports, exercise or activity you'll take up. Look at all the clothes you'll wear when you're the size you want to be, even order a thing or two in a size or two smaller for motivation.
Spend as much time as you can on here, we're all in the same boat.x

Well youre quite right to worry as you will be damaging the good work of your surgeon. Noone can fix this for you so please just give yourself a stern talking to...follow your providers guide..they've given it you for a reason!! x

Hun sorry im going to be blunt too... but there is a reason we have to go on liquids, pureeds etc.. whatever surgery we have... and by not sticking to the guidelines we can do real damage to our new insides. by not obeying the rules you can have some nasty complications... please as from now... stick to the rules hun xxx

Thank all so very much for your posts and taking time to post them. I haven't told my care team as I am way too ashamed. I was sooo good on the pre-op as was petrified my liver wouldn't shrink enough for the surgery to be done??!

Today has been much better had two Slimfasts (not full amount as stated on tin) and just some no suger ribena to drink. Maybe this is why I've not lost any weight this week then??

Today is 2 weeks exactly since surgery but am going to do liquids for a few days more. Thank you all again. Your stories and postings are inspirational to say the least xx

Hun give the care team a call...and tell them what you have told us... dont be ashamed... you are robably not the first person to have done that and you wont be the last... but they are there to support you too xx

Thanks so much again for your encouragement. Wlsurgery is so helpful and really puts things into perspective, wish I had found it much sooner but feel much more positive today. Onwards and upwards on the journey now x

Well done fudgebunny... good luck xxx

Oh I will be it is slowly becoming my rock for getting me through this new journey. Not had any temptation today as I'm reminded of what I've had done and the changes I have to make. It won't happen overnight.

Been watching too much tv and thinking recovery takes days rather than the reality xx
