Shooting pain in wound!

Today i have just started get a sharp shooting pain in one of my scars, its just under my boobs in middle.

Could it be because my bra has been sitting on it when im sat down??

Should i be worried??

Awww bless Leanne, it's unbelievable how many twinges and pains come out of the blue post surgery... I've had very similar and always wonder just the same as you.

You are very early post op and I had niggles and pains here and there for some time after. This is perfectly normal hun. Rest up and dont overdo things xx

It might be worth taking the bra off for a portion of the day (whilst you're at home)
There will be aches and pains, if it's persistant /doesn't eas at all and takes your breath away I would call the team.

Leanne - as Bev says it is probably nothing to worry about, we seem to accumalate so many niggles and odd pains....half the time it is just trapped wind.
If your bra is a little tight over the scar - perhaps you could leave it off for a while at home. See whether it makes any difference.
Any real worries then your team would probably be able to answer your queries hun x

Pains are quite frightening post op... it's a concern for all of us... and even later on with the 'knitting type pains'... Leanne as everyone says, it's early days and rest, relaxation and time does help a great deal.

If you sit leaning forward it can feel like something is trapped or turned over...I get twinges now all this time after if I lie on my side or twist in a certain way etc.

I totally second everything said...weird pains are totally normal & can linger for weeks & weeks afterwards...could be wound/tissue-healing, could be wind...could be both! You will get used to it & they will get less with time xxx

I had that earlier too, had to loosen my bra. So I say..NORMAL! xx

If that's where your biggest scar is , it is probably your port , and it usually is stitched to your chest muscles there..so if it's slightly squashed or pulled it would explain the pain as well.

I'm pre-op so i dont really understand the niggles and pains yet but i agree with everyone else take your bra off for a while and if it persists call the team!

its probably a mixture of the bra rubbing & port pain do you know where your port is located ? x

Hi all,

Thanks for your replies, it wasnt my port site, my port is sewn to my breast bone and my scar for this is right inbetween my boobies. I was having trouble with one under my boobs but it has eased off now. I get it every now and again but not as much as i was.

I think it was alot to do with my bra and maybe doing too much with picking up my 10 month old, as it only started to happen when hubby went back work and i had to do everything again.
