I had my surgery last Thursday at Heartlands, Birmingham and am feeling absolutely great. Apart from a bit of wind pain and tightness I have had no pain at all - just two doses of paracetamol in the hours after surgery. My main problem was nausea, which lasted just over 24 hours. I have been home since Saturday and haven't looked back.
Never having been a huge drinker - rarely managing my 8 glasses a day - I do struggle to get the fluids in, am constantly sipping, but am persevering with that.
I just wanted to reassure anyone out there who has been put off by negative stories they may have heard.It's a bit like birth stories - no two are the same and everyone's experience is unique to them.
I have been given the chance of a new life and I'm determined to make the most of every minute of it.
