Im in need of a good talking to. ive started eating the same old rubbish that i used to before the op and the worst thing is i don't feel anything after ive eaten it no restriction, no sickness, no dizzy feelings no headaches nothing thats why im still eating this stuff. this upsets me coz ive done so well in the last 5 months, ive managed to lose just over 6 stone and still got another 5 to go. please give me some words of wisdom...:sigh::break_diet:

dont do it!!!!! have you not tortured your body enough and to risk everything by having surgery only to carry on as you used to defeats the object! i know its hard (also a fellow foody) but direct your interests into something else!!!!

why are you doing it ? boredom? habbits...????

STOP THAT you dont need talking to all you need is to remember where you have come from and the battle you had getting there granted we can eat all the junk we used to but do you really want to go backwards the answer has got to be NO come on we will all have times we feel that kind of way cos we all had one thing in common the love of food and thats what led us all to have surgery to improve the quality of life that we never had so just remember the old you if like me all the aches n pains and dramas that goes with it theres no way im going back there and im sure you dont want to either but before you eat the junk again just think where you was before surgery i do and it scares the s..t out of me. i wish you the very best of luck and hope you can turn it round and get back on track

Sukie, don't worry about it. Just keep on eating it, lose no more weight and probably have a regain... Or be lucky like i was and eat rubbish and just stay the same.....

Or be serious and look at why you are eating the crap. Is it because you miss the food you used to eat? Or is it more that you are testing yourself and your pouch?

As a matter of interest, when you say you feel no restriction after eating, is it tuna, chicken breast, steak or eggs that your eating? In which case you are eating dense protein and not getting restriction i'd be worried. If however you are eating what i used too, yummy almond croissants, a nice muffin from the bakers, sweet things then you probably won't feel the restriction because the carbs just slide through really quickly, they don't get chance to settle. If i take 1/2 a tin of tuna to work for my lunch and a couple of slices of beetroot that's it i'm stuffed. Yet i can take a sandwich made with 2 slices of bread n ham/salad and polish that off along with a yoghurt and sometimes even a small banana...

As for dumping? Were you diabetic pre op? A lot of us diabetics don't dump...

Seriously, get yourself in check. If you can't do it off your own back get logged onto myfitnesspal or get to a slimming club so you have some accountability...

There's a few of us who have got to the stage you are at, we are all there for each other. I so hope you get it in check, because i think that like me you are not ready to get off the wls ride yet xxx

What an absolute shame I'm so sorry. To think the NHS could have spent the twelve grand giving someone who would have done their bit to make WLS a lifelong success, and they might have just wasted it on you. That is so sad. So many people who just can't get funding who really deserve the chance, and they spend it on you to throw that chance away :break_diet:

WLS is not s miracle cure for obesity it merely gives us something to work with. If we fail to take it seriously fail to do our bit, then we fail. You are not alone by any stretch of the imagination, there are many who have treated WLS with contempt and either failed to reach goal or regained weight. You are alone in that only you can put it right.

Most high carb, or high sugar foods are slider foods they pass right through your pouch so you can eat lots of them and feel little restriction. Also only around 30% of bypass patients suffer from dumping syndrome and even they can if they are stupid enough to want to can build a tolerance to it. So it's no surprise that you don't dump or feel restriction eating crap.

You owe it to your family, the NHS, and most of all yourself to make the best of this last chance to have a normal weight and a normal life, if you fail to take this chance you only have yourself to blame. It's your body, your pouch, your surgery, and your ultimate success or failure so over to you, do it or don't.

A tip I was given early out was before you cram crap down your neck just think if you would be happy to call your surgeon and tell them what you are about to eat. If the answer is no then it shouldn't be chewed and swallowed.

I would say keep a food diary and log what calories you’ve eaten and how they are made up (Protein, carbs, fats sugars etc) on one of the many food logging web sites, but you’d have to be serious about wanting to lose this six stone to be bothered to do that, and I’m not sure that you are bothered enough to put the effort in.

Good luck with this I really hope you can get back on track and make the changes that will ensure you lifelong success. To anyone who thinks I'm being too harsh; well frankly I don't care what you think, this isn't a kittens and rainbows kind of thread, it really is the last chance we get and the OP did ask us to be honest ;)
