So, I have been told I have to quit smoking for the op. I am now 11 days away and still smoking :-( dieting and no smoking just makes me want to cry!! Any advise from anyone that's been in a similar position? X
Just do it! The thought of giving up is worse than doing it. You're operation risk is greatly reduced if your not smoking. Good luck
LOL i have depression too but had champix and day 3 was free from the cigs champix did make me feel nauseous so stopped and took up an e cig to be told it wasn't acceptable either................ so i came home chucked it away and haven't looked back. As my surgeon said he wasn't prepared to give me a life saving op for me to smoke myself to death............ and i kinda agree Gl hunni x x x
gl its not easy ......... i feel for ya x x x For me the option of not getting my op was enough
Day 1 and I actually hate it already. I mean surely the docs won't even know I still smoke? As long as I don't have one before going in.
Mmm.....not sure if I'm correct but I think there is a test that can be done to check smoking. Has anyone else heard this? That's why I stopped smoking and followed the preop as I was determined to get my bypass x Good luck..
I'm just thinking out loud. I know there are ways and means via your oxygen etc for them to tell. Just struggling big time
What about one of those electric cigs with a no nicotine flavour? Or I had a lolly if I was getting a meany!
