Dylis the exact same thing happened to me except I put on 8 pounds!!!!! I am now slowly losing, it will come. I honestly think that ones body thinks it is starving and is trying to hang on to every ounce of weight it can.

Don't give up!!!

How are you finding eating? I still cannot keep anything down, not even soup or smoothies anymore , only clear fluids!!! I am quite worried. Luckily I am seeing the consultant on Wednesday .

Its true it will come off its your bodies way of protecting its self.It is very early days theres alot going on in your body with the healing swelling etc

Give it time you will be fine

You wont regret it in a couple of weeks when your body gets into gear and it starts dropping off.Promise it will be the best thing you ever did. theres no better feeling

did you lose quite a lot during the pre-op diet? remember that your body has just gone through the trauma of surgery and will take a little while to settle down. You'll soon be losing I'm sure.

Hi Hun. When I came home from the hospital; i was 7lbs heavier......then after about three weeks i had a stall of about 4 weeks, this has happened numerous times throughout the past year only to wake one day to have lost 7lbs in one go and then continued to lose 1lb a day until my next stall.
Actually I went from the end of Feb to last saturday without losing a lb then all of a sudden 6lb gone xxx
Its gonna happen ypu will see xxx

Hi Dylis, I know exactly how you feel, I had my op almost 2 weeks ago and my scales say I have put on 5lb, I havent even had anything thicker than a Mullerlight. I meticullasly count every protein, fat, carb and calorie I eat and am averaging 750 cals a day, 100g protein, pratically no fat and around 70g carbs so I am also very disheartened and confused. Am I eating too many calories? not enough? who knows. Sigh, the common sense tells me that I cannot gain weight on that many calories so its a bit of a mystery. I am also managing over 2 litres of water a day. Don't know what else to do other than plod on, hang in there we will do it. Sue xx

Let's keep in contact x we can then look back at this time when we are a size 14 and remember the time when we had not lost anything !!!!!

Ladies, you are early post op, you are swollen you are healing even though you feel great. Wait patiently and the losses will come :)

Colopatron your body is worried its starving, although you are only having 750 cals remember not all of them are absorbed. Keep doing what your doing, the body will realise the gravy train is still running and will start to use your reserves xxx

Mine either, i want to be 12 stone NOW!!! And if someone would be good enough to chop a leg off i would be :) xx

dyliss don't get disheartened you will get there

life changing and life enhancing focus on the positive and you will get there
