So, I bought the leggings...

After lots of agonising about them (and whether I was too old for them) in another thread here, I bought a pair of leggings from Markies.

The last pair I had were size 22 maternity leggings, with spots all over them in 1991. (The baby is 19 and off the university in two weeks!)

These are size 16 and I wore them this week with boots that don't have wide calves!

I've posted a picture in my album, but I'll try to copy it here, too.

Thanks to everyone who said it would be ok to go for it!

Even my son ("Just because it fits doesn't mean you should wear it.") agrees that I don't look too bad in this outfit - although I have been warned about wearing the woolly dress (£16 in Matalan) with tights and shoes!
