After my problems with indigestion pain over the last few days I got an email back from my dietician to say I need to go back to fluids only for a while.

Better find some new soup recipes then because I am sick of what's in the freezer :(

sorry to hear Karen, i hope your week flies by hun, and you are fighting fit
love and hugs
xxxx

Ah bless kids! My 11 year old just put it into perspective for me. I was crying and feeling sorry for myself and he said:

"Mum without this you'd probably never have lost this much weight never mind much more. And I couldn't play out or swim for weeks when I dislocated my elbow and had a cast on. It's only a few weeks of your life - everyone as problems to deal with and yours aren't too bad."

Oh my how did I raise such a sensible child?

And he's right. I AM happy for my bypass and I WILL get through this tough time.

Aw Karen you must be very proud of your child hun. xx

Some providers do make their patients stay on fluids for a lot longer anyway.

Hope it goes well, but on the upside think of the extra weight you will lose.

I'm so sorry Karen, but hopefully it's going to do the trick for you. I know what you mean about pre-op frozen soup - I can't face any on mine now, and it will all have to be thrown.
Here's hoping the week goes quickly and you feel much better by next week.

There is a lovely lentil soup that can be blended down in the cook book that everyone has been talking about, have you got it? I can type it out if not. Waitrose have a nice french onion fresh soup that I added some cheese into that was nice and covent garden soups are mostly fine. x

I've the book - will look it up.

Thanks everyone!

hi karen,

Im so sorry youve had such a bad time of it lately,Im sure once you go back to liquids for a while you will feel so much better for it and your new insides will get the rest it needs.
But I tell you Im dreading taking my forceval tommorow..
any tips anyone..x

Fab. My husband is making it for me tonight yum! The cauliflower and chicken (although I used chickpeas) curry is nice too you could turn that into a soup as well with more stock.
The beetroot idea I stole was lovely too, roasted beetroots, veg stock, onions, garlic blended down with some feta blended in.
