Sore bum?

Is this just me? I've lost 4 stones 7 pounds now since July this year. I still have at least 6 stones to lose to get to target....

....but recently the base of my back and my botty really, REALLY hurt when I sit. I keep having to shuffle about to try to get comfortable, I was squirming around so much in the cinema the other night.

Does anyone else have is problem? I'm concerned, as it's so sore now, what on earth will it be like by the time I'm somewhere close to target? Or will it get better? I mean, surely naturally thin people don't suffer like this?

As you lose weight your skeleton will shift about.Everyone will get it to different degrees,we have carried excess weight pushing and pulling the body out of shape.I have flat feet, bad lower back, hip pain, rib pain.a doctor told me when you lose weight everything hurts again for some as things shift about again.I am waiting till I have wls to have a hernia repair and a prolapse redone.

Do you know, will it get better when the weight stabilises then?
I have flat feet too.

I think there are certain strengthening exercises you can do,I would imagine pilates may help. You should see an osteopath.

i'm at the same stage as you and have the same to lose and I'm always moaning about my "bum bones" digging in when I sit on anything hard or with very little padding, and yes I have flat feet to

I feel your pain honey, I find sitting on a coxccyx cushion for work helps take the pressure off, but my bum hurts if i sit too long in a comfy chair, i find myself having to lie on the settee, im not sure there is much that can be done perhaps its our bodys way of keeping us on the move more.......

Interesting thread, I havnt had botty pain "yet" but it looks as though it might happen. I would hope it would settle down after a while as like you say Grace naturally thin people dont get it........unless being overweight for so long has damaged our skeletons too much! XX

Yes, I have this too (especially when sitting in the bath), it seems to be a common problem and its mostly to do with the coxccyx - in fact I saw a weight loss programme where a woman had some of the bone shaved off or they may have even taken it out completely. I really feel it when I do sit ups. I was told to try and develop some muscle around that area to give it a covering but haven't a clue what sort of exercises might be done in that area!

i still say i need a cushion for my office chair at work lol

it's one downside of losing the weight is losing that natural cushion we have grown so used to over the years haha

Grace? Is it just the cinema chair that does it? Because i find the cinema seats make my butt uncomfortable too, almost to the numb bum stage.... However i'm fine everywhere else, except the flippin bus when i lower my standards!

Apparently it is a common problem in large weight losses - seems we lose weight in different ways. I have a boney coccyx and have learnt to just adjust positions as and when I can
